Week Eight: Health Regulations

A recording studio does not get regular health inspections like a restauraunt or food processing plants. If anything that has to do with health is in the workplace environment it is probably the wires. I could imagine a rainy day worse case scenario involving water and some poorly placed and plugged cables. Cables must be kept organized in a particularly safe manor.

Week Six: Intern Response

Last week I had the most hands on with the pro tools mixing board to date. I was recording differnt tracks and deciding where to record from on a song that Danielle was making for himself based on a techno industrial metal beat his friend had made him. This was a highly entertaining day in the studio and I really enjoyed it.

Week One: Intern response

My first week interning was terrible in the sense that it never happened. I was told to be at the studio at ten in the morning. I was there five minutes late and began to worry Daniel might have left. I asked a man who worked in a shop on the strip if he knew Daniel, he did and even called him for me but with no response. After an hour I gave up and treaded on home. Later that day Mr. Siegmund and Daniel were in contact and understand that I was there.

Week Four: Intern Reponse

My third visit to the studio was the most adventurous yet. I had my first expereince handling any equipment and helped move speakers around the mixing board for better sound. I also learned the functions of some of the mixing board's buttons and their relation to Pro Tools and sound recording software program.

Possible Career

My choice of most interested career from my options from the website was the able seaman. A job that entails travel and long period of time away from land. It requires skill and knowledge at operating a sea vessel. This is a job I find interesting becasue of it's ever changing location and hands on job type.

Week Four: My Learning Style

I was evenly tied as a Visual and Tactile learner. This means I learn material best when I hear it or take notes in my own words. I think this is true about myself becasue I usually translate a teachers words into my own for notes and see a consistency in my understanding of class material.

Five Things to Improve my Classes

Literature Twelve

1. Highlight important matierial to take more notice of it.
2. Skim constantly through reading material for a frame of reference.
3. Take frequent study breaks for short periods of time.
4. Keep a visual poster or decoration to keep a study free environment projected.
5. Visualize writting ideas to remember them better.

Economics

1.Keep most matieral highlighted in different sections to make use of notes fully.
2. Keep small illustartions or comics depiction concepts of notes.
3. Take notes on questions asked to teachers.
4. If reading material do it while at a treading bicycle or walking.
5. Chew gum while studying.

Service Learning Week Four

My mentor at the studio never emailed me back this past week and I was unable to attend during the week. This was highly unsatisfying for a wensday with nothing to do. I have emailed him back this week and am waiting response.

Week Three: Intern Response

The four hours I spent at "PigPen" Studios were spent in quite reflection watching Daniel work his mixing board while working on multiple songs of the band Stero Gun. Their sound was a mix of Emo rock with back Screamo vocals, needless to say I was less than eager to hear their songs continuously for hours. I understand that it is part of the job and think I could handle it despite it's repitative nature.

Other than being the observant intern, I cleaned rooms and took trash out to the dumping can. I was locked out of the studio for nearly twenty minutes when I got back with the first load of trash cans, I have since learned the code and can no longer be locked out when taking the trash. I enjoyed my time this past week and am eager to return tommarow.

Week Three: Combating Procrastination

Ways to Avoid Procrastination
1. Finish early by starting right away and not stopping until the assignment is complete.
2. After finishing find productive things to do, to make the work load of the futuer lighter.
3. If you need a break to refresh your brain power, take a small break and then begin working again.
4. In spare time, engage in brain stimulating activies, such as writing, drawing, playing an instrument, or philosophizing.
5. Keep your mind concentrated on finishing your work as well as possible the first time, so that you don't have to make as many corrections.

Week Three: Task Two; Habits for Better Note Taking

Habits for Better Note Taking:
1. Keep notes organized and understandable.
2. Keep notes color cordinated to make studying more efficient.
3. Make notes on only primary information that is more likely to be on quizes and test.
4. Seperate notes in sections of relative information.
5. Review notes on small time basis daily to keep information fresh in your mind and out of the time fog.

Week Three: Task # 1: Two Important Skills

Being prepared is the first basic step to succeding in any class in any level of education. Each class has a different criteria, with differnt needs. It is highly important to note each classes needs for a good work ethic to be easily found within the block's time frame. It is easy for a disorganized individual to loose track of his required resources in the depths of the time fog. Starting as quickly as possible is the easiest way to shrug the time fog off. If one begins their duties as quikcly as possible, they will finish as fast as possible and have more time to prepare for other classes or assignments of due in the future.

Me in ten years from the ominous now

In ten years I will have walked many a path that will have opened many an eyeball. I will have a much more down to earth view of the ways to the world and it's happenings. I think I will have completed my college education within ten years and will have decided upon a carrer and started to pursuee it.
To get where I want to go I need to learn what It is like to only depend upon one's self. I think living a year or so after high school without attending college will definitely impact this message well enough. To live without great amounts of money has two benefits, it make's someone more resourceful and more self relieant.

Task Two:

Highly motivated students usually posses similar qualities in thier personalities and work habbits. These qualities and usually but no limitied to: High expectations of their work and Learning from mistakes. One with higher expectations of themselves is likely to try harder for a much more specific end goal. Those who can learn from their mistakes must view each step of the process their job requires of them. These two qualities almost guanrantee an hard worker.

Task One:

My worst habbit in a learning environment is not completely learning from my mistakes. This is because I repeat mistakes until I fully understand what I am doing that is creatin it. Sometimes it can take me a long while to fully understand the many differnt cases of action and reaction. I should learn to understand the mechanics of the task at hand more thouroughly.
